ERMINIA COLUCCI ON MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH

You are cordially invited to Dr. Erminia Colucci's film screening and public talk at 15:00 on April 6 in collaboration with Latvian Association of Anthropologists. Event will be held in English, there will be no admission fee.

During the event, Erminia will show one of the main films (Harmoni: Healing Together, 98 min.) from the UKRI-Funded project she led. The film explores collaboration between faith-based and traditional healers and mental health professionals in Indonesia to improve mental health care and eradicate human rights abuses against people with mental health issue. Following the screening, Erminia will discuss the Together for Mental Health project and her interdisciplinary practice in Visual Anthropology/Psychology and Cultural and Global Mental Health. Dr. Erminia Colucci is Associate Professor in Visual and Cultural Psychology in the Department of Psychology at Middlesex University London (UK) and a registered Clinical and Community Psychologist
(Italy). Her main areas of research and training are in Cultural and Global Mental Health, and Applied Cross-Cultural Psychology and Visual Anthropology, with a focus on low-middle income countries andimmigrant and refugee populations. Erminia is the founder of Movie-ment and Chair of the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry SIG on Arts, Mental Health and Human Rights. Her publications and more information can be found here.
