The boy Jiro dreams of flying and of beautiful airplanes capable of outrunning the wind. However, he cannot become a pilot — he has been nearsighted since birth. Still, Jiro never lets go of his dream of the sky: he begins designing the perfect airplane and, over time, becomes one of the world’s greatest aircraft designers. On his path to success, he will meet many fascinating people, live through the Great Tokyo Earthquake and brutal wars, and also find the love of his life.
