Eighteen-year-old Marina travels to the port city of Vigo to follow in the footsteps of her father Alfonso. Her father's relatives show no desire to get close to her - Marina's resemblance to her mother only reminds them of Alfonso's dark past. The true story of her parents has been preserved only in her mother's diary, which describes their passion and suffering.
