Fiction and Staging
This year the theme of the festival is Directing the Real looking into the fictional staging aspects of the documentary cinema. The curator of the programme is Carlo A. Cubero, head of the Anthropology Department of Tallinn University. As part of the festival, there will be a film programme, talks with documentary filmmakers, as well as lectures by guest visual anthropologists – Peter I. Crawford's lecture The Character, the Plot and the Spectacle and Johannes Sjoberg's lecture From Ethnofiction to Ethnoscience-Fiction.
Riga Pasaules Film Festival will take place from April 16 to 19 in the premises of cinema KSuns.
